Serves as a Major Satellite Town Centre
Clarkson is a suburb about 33-35 km north of Perth CBD, in the City of Wanneroo. It offers a mix of coastal proximity, good transport connections, modern amenities, and plenty of green space. One of its newer developments is Catalina, which spans parts of Clarkson and nearby Mindarie. Catalina includes several precincts (e.g. Catalina Green, Catalina Central) planned with parks, walkways, coastal access, and community infrastructure.
Ocean Keys Shopping Centre
A major shopping hub with over 120 stores, including Coles, Kmart, and more specialty shops. Good for retail, casual dining, and grabbing essentials.
Clarkson Railway Station
Useful for transport: connects via the Yanchep line, linking you to Perth and other suburbs.
Beaches & Marina
Though Clarkson itself is slightly inland, it has very easy access to beaches like Mindarie Beach, Quinns Beach, and Jindalee, as well as the Mindarie Marina. Good for walks, swimming, relaxing by the ocean, and sunset views.

Here’s a sample plan if you have one full day in Clarkson:
Morning
Start with breakfast or coffee at Brewed Awakening or a café near Ocean Keys.
Head to one of the nearby beaches (Mindarie Beach or Quinns Beach) for a swim or beach walk.
Midday
Lunch around the marina (Mindarie Marina) or one of the local restaurants like Saigon Palace.
After lunch, explore Ocean Keys Shopping Centre for shopping or browsing.
Afternoon
Visit some parks: Richard Aldersea Park, Anthony Waring Park, or Drimmie Park. If you’re up for a nature walk, check out Catalina Nature Reserve.
Perhaps try a beer & snack at Indian Ocean Brewing Co. in the evening (if you don’t mind driving a short distance).
Evening
Dinner at a local pub such as Whale & Ale.
Finish with sunset by the beach or a stroll along the marina.
Getting Around & Practical Tips
Transport: Clarkson is well connected by road (Neerabup Road, Marmion Avenue, Connolly Drive) and via the train (Clarkson Station on the Yanchep line).
Walking / Bike Trails: Catalina estates include many walking/cycling paths, green links, nature reserves. Great for active visitors.
Free / Low-cost: Many of the best things are free — beaches, parks, walking, marina. Good places to bring a picnic.
